Critical Power Planning, Analysis and Training
Power Consulting & Training, Inc. (PCT) was established in 2013 by Timothy Coyle, PE to provide planning, analysis, and staff development expertise to owners, operators and designers of critical power systems. Tim has over 30 years of experience, employed by both Owners and major A/E firms, in the planning, design, and commissioning of critical power systems in health care, defense, and utility infrastructure facilities. Technical specialties on which he has published and presented papers include medium voltage systems, generator control and protection, grounding and ground fault protection, commissioning, and reliability analysis.
Tim received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, is a licensed Master Electrician in Minnesota and a Registered Professional Engineer in multiple states. He is a member of the IEEE Industry Applications and Power Engineering Societies, a chapter chair for IEEE Standard 493 – 2007 Recommended Practice for the Design of Reliable Commercial and Industrial Power Systems, and a member of the NFPA Electrical Section.
